Human Rights Policy
Walk Easy Shoes (walkeasyshoes.com), operated by Forward Scholars LLC Last updated: October 23, 2026
Our commitment
Walk Easy Shoes exists to help people feel comfortable on their feet every day. We believe a business should do right by people at every step, from the way we treat the people who work with us to the way the products we sell are made. This policy sets out the principles we follow and what we expect from the partners we work with.
Our approach is guided by the principles of the United Nations Universal Declaration of Human Rights and the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights, which say that businesses have a responsibility to respect human rights and to address harm when it occurs.
Scope
This policy applies to Forward Scholars LLC, doing business as Walk Easy Shoes, including our owners, employees, contractors and freelancers. We also expect our suppliers, manufacturers, fulfillment and shipping partners, and other business partners to follow its principles.
Our own team
We are committed to the following for everyone who works with us:
- Respect and dignity. We treat people fairly and with respect, and we do not tolerate harassment, abuse, intimidation or retaliation.
- Equal opportunity. We make decisions about hiring, pay and advancement based on skills and merit. We do not discriminate on the basis of race, color, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, religion, national origin, age, disability, pregnancy or any other status protected by law.
- Fair work. We pay fairly, comply with applicable wage and hour laws, and respect reasonable working hours and time off.
- Safe workplace. We aim to provide working conditions that are safe and healthy, including for anyone working remotely.
- Freedom of association. We respect the right of workers to organize and to join, or not to join, a union where the law provides for it.
- Accommodations. We provide reasonable accommodations as required by law.
- Privacy. We protect the personal information of our team members and partners and handle it in line with applicable law.
Zero tolerance for forced and child labor
We prohibit forced labor, bonded labor, prison labor, slavery, human trafficking and child labor in our own operations and in any part of our supply chain. We will not knowingly do business with any partner that engages in these practices.
Our suppliers and business partners
We choose partners who share our values. In practice, this means we:
- Look for manufacturers and suppliers that comply with the labor, safety and human rights laws that apply to them
- Ask our suppliers to confirm that they do not use forced labor or child labor, and that they treat workers fairly, pay lawful wages and maintain safe working conditions
- Consider a partner's reputation, certifications and location when deciding whether to work with them
- Ask questions and take action when we learn of possible concerns, and we will stop working with a partner that will not address a serious violation
As a small and growing business, we do not always have full visibility into every tier of our supply chain. We are committed to improving how we assess and monitor our partners as we grow.
Customers and communities
We aim to market and sell our products honestly and to describe them accurately. We respect the privacy of our customers and handle their personal information as described in our Privacy Policy. We welcome customers from all backgrounds and do not tolerate discriminatory treatment of anyone who interacts with our business.
Raising a concern
If you believe this policy is not being followed, whether by us or by one of our partners, please tell us. You may contact us at hello@walkeasyshoes.com. You can report a concern without identifying yourself if you prefer. We will review every report in good faith, investigate where appropriate, and take corrective action when needed. We do not tolerate retaliation against anyone who raises a concern in good faith.
Review of this policy
We review this policy periodically and may update it as our business grows or as laws and best practices change. The date at the top shows when it was last revised.
